(Hong Kong) Average Wage Report by Employee

The Average Wage Report by Employee provides visibility into each employee’s Average Daily Wage (ADW) before processing a payrun. This supports accurate statutory leave calculations under Hong Kong’s Employment Ordinance (Section 713).

Previous Limitation

(Before June 2025)

Previously, ADW figures were only available after completing and approving a payrun. This made it difficult for users to:

  • Verify ADW amounts in advance
  • Prepare statutory leave payouts (e.g., sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, work injury leave)

New Functionality

(After June 2025)

The Average Wage Report by Employee includes the following features:

  • Date Selection: Users can select the month and year for which the report should be generated.
  • 12-Month History: Displays wage data for the past 12 months per employee, used to compute ADW.
    • If the employee has been employed for less than 12 months, data starts from the join month.
  • 713 Column: Shows the ADW amount calculated based on both regarded and disregarded wages, in accordance with Section 713.
  • Statutory Leave Breakdown: Lists the number of leave days taken per statutory leave type, per employee.

Purpose of the Report

This report helps users:

  • Access ADW data before payrun approval
  • Ensure accurate leave payout preparation
  • Align with Hong Kong statutory requirements
  • Reduce reliance on manual tracking or post-payrun checks
