Introduction
If you have recently subscribed to the JustLogin Payroll module and were unable to complete the full tax year using the software, you can still generate the IR56B file by entering a Tax Opening Balance.
The Tax Opening Balance records any income, benefits, or payments that were disbursed before your first JustLogin payrun. This allows the system to produce a comprehensive and accurate IR56B tax form at year-end.
Note: You must complete the Tax Opening Balance before generating your IR56B XML file. Skipping this step may result in incomplete or incorrect tax submissions. |
What You Will Need
- Details of all income, allowances, and benefits paid to employees before your first JustLogin payrun
- Any additional employee information not captured in payruns (e.g. home address, passport number, job title)
- Access to the Payroll module with admin permissions

| IR56B Opening Balance | Any income, benefits, or allowances paid to employees before you started using JustLogin Payroll |

Next Steps
After entering or importing the Tax Opening Balance, verify that all employee data in the system is correct. Once you have confirmed the information, you can proceed to generate the IR56B XML file for submission to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
Tip: If you encounter any validation errors during import, review the CSV template to ensure all mandatory fields are filled in correctly and that employee IDs match those in the system. |
