Canceling a Partial Leave

Canceling a partial leave lets you remove specific dates from an approved multi-day leave application without canceling the entire request. This feature is available on the web version of JustLogin and can be used by both administrators and employees.

How an Admin Can Cancel a Partial Leave

  1. Go to the Leave Dashboard.
  2. Under For Approval, click View Pending Actions.
  3. Locate the leave application and click View under the Actions column.
  4. On the Leave Information page, click the Remove button next to the date you want to cancel.
  5. Confirm the removal. A confirmation message will appear at the top-right corner of the screen.

How an Employee Can Cancel a Partial Leave

  1. Go to the Leave Dashboard.
  2. Under Last Leave Taken, click View History.
  3. Locate the leave application and click the eye icon under the Actions column.
  4. On the Leave Information page, click Remove next to the date you want to cancel.
  5. Confirm the removal. The status will change to Cancellation Pending, as the request requires approval from the designated Approving Officer.

Does Canceling a Partial Leave Require Approval?

Whether approval is needed depends on the current status of the leave application:

ScenarioApproval Required?
Leave application is still pendingNo — the date is removed immediately.
Leave application is already approvedYes — a cancellation request is sent to the employee's approver, following the same routing as a full leave cancellation.
Removal performed by a leave admin or superuser on behalf of an employeeNo — the date is removed immediately, with no approval step required.

When Does the Leave Balance Return?

  • Immediately, if no approval was required (e.g., the application was still pending, or the action was taken by a leave admin/superuser).
  • Only after the approver signs off, if the partial cancellation was raised against an already-approved application.

Note: This feature is only available on the web version of JustLogin. It is not currently supported on the mobile app.
